Anyone else opting out on bumper pads??

This is my second baby,our first just turned 7. With our first we g'ot the whole bedding set and used the bumper pads etc. I dont remember there being a whole lot of hype on bumper pads then. This time around it seems like that is all i hear about. I did lots of research to form my own opinion and after reading the SIDS study( and TONS  of other articles ) we have decided to go without. They even warn against the "breathable" bumper pads. I was just curious what everyone else thought...
