Baby ear piercing

I'm sure that this has been asked before so I apologize for the repeat but what do you guys think about piercing a babys ears?  My ears were pierced when I was 2 months old and I never thought much of it until about 4th grade when all my friends were like "omg, im not allowed to pierce my ears til 6th grade"...those of you having girls are you considering piercing?  I think its kind of cute but it would be a little tough to see my baby get her ears pierced....your thoughts?
