Sonogram appt. today. Ultrasound tech seemed to know nothing.

Im 35 weeks preggo and had a sonogram today to see how the baby was growing. The whole time the ultrasound tech kept saying' how big the baby was' and 'how big he was growing' and 'i hope you bought big undershirts for him' and 'how big his toes were' etc etc....., but when i asked how much he weighed, she seemed like she didnt really know. I also asked her about my cervix (size and length) and she said she 'couldnt tell me that kind of information' and had to 'wait until the radiologist looked at it first'. Maybe this is true, but at all my other sonograms (ive had 5) it seemed like the technician told me all this stuff without me even having to ask first. She was sooo nice, but seemed like she couldnt tell me anything or was just clueless. 

 

I guess my question is- is it true that i have to wait until the radiologist and/or doctor looks at the scan first b4 telling me any info, or could the sonogram tech have told me right then?
