Possible issue with cat....

We have 2 cats that are soon to be 10 and 11.  We have never had issues with them using the litter box since we got them, except when one of them had bladder stones and was peeing here and there around our living room, but that was totally understandable.  This morning I was heading out for work and noticed our living room smelled like crap, literally.  My husband never notices anything, so I went looking to see if I could find anything.  Right there on the rug was 2 pieces of poop.  Looks like someone didn't feel like using the litter box.  I'm wondering if all the stuff we've been putting together and getting ready for the baby is causing issues.....

Any ideas?  I'm so stressed out right now, I don't need anything else to add to my stress level!
