remedy for yeast infection...garlic???

i just read an article online that if you have yeast infection and don't want to take any over-the-counter meds, you can put a clove or two of garlic in your vagina over night and it will cure it...is this for real? it sounds so bizarre! has anyone heard of it or tried it??
