Anyone live or have visited Southern California?

My DH and I are flying down to Vegas on Sunday for two days, and then we had planned to go to our usual vacation spot (phoenix, AZ) for a little over a week. However, things have come up and we will no longer be taking our rental car to phx, so we thought southern california would be nice as my DH has never been. 

Any ideas on things to do, places to go, etc? We're up for anything! Ofcourse me being pregnant takes away from the "Six Flags" idea... and wineries would be such a tease, but i'm still willing to go and smell! lol
