Work flexibility issues?!

Hello, I've been working for my company for 5 years, and have always been told by the higher ups and have seen by other mom coworkers how family friendly they are. Now, that I'm pregnant with my first & trying to coordinate my post maternity schedule, I'm finding them to not be flexible & I'm questioning my job security for when I return after my maternity leave. I've been told my daily tasks may change and a person has been hired for permenant employment for when I'm out on leave and she will be staying. I flat out asked if I was going to have a job after and was told yes, not to worry, but I'm beyond stressed out about it. Has this happened to anyone else? It seems so wrong to let me go, after being such a dedicated worker for so many years, just because I'm having a baby?! Any advice would help me, thanks.
