Living at parents:: smoking

I am currently living at my parents now and will be here for at least the first six months after my baby is born. My mother smokes in the house, never around me, and only in two rooms of the house. I don't spend a lot of the time in those rooms since I'm working 6-7 days a week and am always sleeping in my room, but I did read on here the other day about third hand smoke (news to me )

I keep bringing up how I'd rather her not smoke in the house but she is getting really frustrated with me. I think she's being really defensive because I know she'd like to quit smoking because she has tried before but it's obviously hard for her. Her argument is that she smoked in the house with my brother and I (not around us) and we "turned out fine."

Does anybody have any any recommendations on how to press the issue without making her so mad or feel bad?
