PLEASE HELP!!!

so about two weeks ago DS got sick runny nose a little cough nothing major two days later i got it. Had it for about a week and it went away by itself. So that was last week. Now beginning on Sun. nite layed down and woke up with PAINFUL burning in chest and throat. I tried to suffer it out but just got worse had temp up to 100 so decided to go to PCP and they gave me amoxicillan, just wondering if you ladies had any tip to help soothe the sore throat

BTW i tried hot tea with honey and garggle with salt water but NOTHING is helping!!
