false labor experience??

Ok so baby isn't fully cooked yet and this is #4 for me. Last night I woke up to some pretty painful cntx. THey hurt enough for me to get on my knees. This went on for about an hour. I finally laid down again and they tapered off and I fell asleep. I thought for sure I was going into labor. It was just like past experiences. 

  Anyway, this am I had some loose stools as well. I'm trying to relax and drink my water. Anyone else have a start stop labor experience? With my other ones When they were ready labor just started and progressed. This is just really different for me. Could this just be bowels acting up? or my body getting ready?
