opinion on name

Hi everyone, my husband and I decided to name our child after our mothers if it's a girl.  My mother's name is Giovanna, which I love, but I'm trying to think of a nice nickname.  My husband is not crazy about Gianna- he prefers something like Gio or JoJo, but I"m not feeling those.  We came across the name Jovi (Giovi) I think in the movie Elf actually and thought that was kinda cute.  Have any of you heard of that name?  Do you find it weird?
