Contraction making it hard to breath. FTM

This morning I woke up to having contractions every 8 to 10 minutes. They're not super painful or anything. They feel like bad period cramps and my back hurts. I was laying on my left side timing them when I noticed every time I would feel one start up it felt like I was laying on my back and couldn't breath that well. As soon as the contraction would fizzle away I would be able to breath normal again. Is that normal? The contractions have kind of stopped a bit. I still have dull back pain, but the contractions have spread out about every 15 minutes or so. They aren't regular at all. Has this happen to anyone else? TIA
