Anyone make their own maternity pants?

I'm doing anything I can to save money on maternity clothing. I really like the full tummy panel maternity and I thought if I bought some stretchy material and kind or altered non maternity pants and then sewed the stretchy material on it just might work?

I am trying to avoid paying an arm and leg for maternity pants, this will be my last pregnancy so that is another reason.
