17 weeks, BH's and 2nd pregnancy....

So, with DS I got put on bed rest because I was having contractions sooo early. But it was around 23 weeks. Today, I have had at least 15+ contractions (the tightening of the stomach, BH ones...) and I thought I heard someone say this is normal? I have a doc appt tomorrow afternoon, so if they continue, I will have her check it out. Until then, Im just going to ride it out and see how it goes...but is it normal? TIA
