Just gas??

Hi I hate to sound this ignorant but I have dinner in the oven and don't know how to put it this quickly lol. My belly has been pretty hard and uncomfortable all afternoon, I've had braxton hicks for several months but they are not painful. My question is, could gas make my belly feel harder? It's hard like with a bh but not quite as low as they are.
