Pain management after spinal

I'm about to have my rcs on the 22nd. My first one was under general anesthesia. I remember waking up in crazy pain. I was then in same crazy pain for the next 12 hrs or so until they started giving me percocets. I know the first 12 hrs they were pumping in pitocin and very minor doze of morphine for pain. So my question is..is the pain management any better when you have a spinal or is there also a certain amount of time where you're in a lot of pain?
