Possible TMI- Period Question?

I am eight weeks postpartum, exclusively breastfeeding my son. I had a natural, vaginal delivery. I have not had any bleeding since two weeks after his birth. I was told not to expect a period as long as I was breastfeeding, but I seem to have gotten it. I've been crampy, and tonight there was what looked to be period blood in the toilet after I used the restroom. I realize that without seeing it, you can't know for sure if this is my period. However, assuming it is, can this hurt my milk supply? If so, is there any way to rescue it?

ETA** I did look on Google, but I couldn't seem to find anything that really addressed this particular question.
