Baby's toenail ingrown?

It looks as if her big toenails are literally buried in the skin meaning instead of the nail growing out and over, the whole thing is growing into skin across the front. Anyone know what they do for that? It looks to me like they would have to cut part of her toe off......I sure hope not. There has to be a better way....
