37 wks 4 days- cramping all day, dilated and effaced

Two weeks ago at my 36 wk appointment I was 4 cm and 60% effaced. My dr didn't check me at 37 wks, he said I just needed I wait for contractions. I have been having cramping and tightening on an off since noon- about 7 hours. They are nothing I can't deal with, but it just worries me that I was so far along almost 2 weeks ago. Possibly tmi ....I have gone to bathroom 3 times today- loose stool. Heard this could be a sign. My stomach also feels to be smaller today- this worries me also! Not sure if I'm leaking fluid and just don't know it?!? Any input or advice would be great! Thanks!
