Pacifiers

We hadn't intended on using a pacifier - my mom didn't with me, my sister didn't with her kids. I don't have any other real reason, other than not using one means I don't have to wean him from a pacifier down the road.

I'm wondering - do/did you use one? Why or why not?

* We are having issues with gas/colic/crying/overactive sucking reflex, lots of weight gain - and I'm EBF.We're wondering if he's waking for other reasons at night (every 1.5 to 2 hours) and just nursing because I'm there.
