teething early?

my baby boy is almost 3 months old and has excessive spit/drool and is sucking and chewing non-stop on his hands. Could he be teething early?? I know that I did when I was younger. Also he is getting really fussy in the afternoons...it's almost like a complaining/whining fiasco, and whatever you do it takes forever to calm him down lol HELP!
