What is it like in the recovery room?

I know that they will most likely bring the baby in to cuddle and nurse, but I know I'll probably be in there for a few hours and I'm sure they take the baby away to the nursery to bathe, monitor, etc.  So what do you do in recovery?  Is there a tv?  Do you just lay there in boredom?  Can you call people to announce the birth?  How long should I expect to be in there?  Sorry if this is a really dumb question.
