Continued blood after exam

Sooo yesterday was my first exam for the weeks leading up to delivery.  Dr. did the Group B test and then did an internal test to check dilation and what not.  There was quite a bit of blood afterwards.  But obviously not enough to alarm the doctor or she would have been concerned right?  Well it continued for the day, ruined my underwear and pants for that matter.  Now today, its still there but not as much.  Is this something that is normal and to be expected from these internal exams going forward?
