2+ Mom Breastpump Question

I know I will need a breastpump, since I plan to go back to work, at least part time, at 6 weeks. (DH will be home with the baby) I was planning to get the Medela Pump n style, but it is just sooo expensive. I am registered for it and there is a chance someone will buy it at my shower (maybe a few relatives could go in on it together), but if not, I'm going to have to buy one myself. I noticed that there are a couple of cheaper brands, but does anyone have experience with other electric pumps besides Medela? Were they good, or should I suck it up and buy the Medela? I don't want a crappy pump, since I do plan to use it daily for probably close to a year.
