Super eater!

My son is 4 weeks old now and about 2 weeks ago he started eating more during feedings and being more awake and alert and I figured no big deal it was a growth spurt. Now, this week he literally sleeps cumulatively 2 hours during the day and last night none at all. We just had to switch him from breast milk to formula and he's done really well with it, except he eats and eats and eats. And eats some more. He'll go for about 5 ounces then fall asleep for a solid 30 minutes or so then he's back at for another 4 to 5 ounces. What is going on??
