Those nearing the end: Are you having contractions now? How often?

I am not a FTM, but I really don't think I ever had a single contraction with my breech baby born at 39w 1d. Now, I'm almost 38 weeks and having contractions a little closer together each day (this weekend only a few a day, by tonight hourly). My practicioner said that contractions are more common during the 2nd preganacy, but what should I expect (if there's any way of knowing ?

I am not ready to go into labor yet!! I am currently trying to finish paperwork for my job and I want a couple more weeks as a family of three, but I'm wondering how much time I really have!

I'm thinking this is normal and can continue for weeks, but I wanted some feedback.
