Cut LO's finger :(

I was cutting LOs nails today which I hate doing and have avoided for a while and I pinched her finger between the blades and one blade went pretty deep in her little finger. It was horrible I cried forever and so did she.  I didnt just knick the skin or clip off a top layer it went into her finger. I was being so careful but she just moved. I feel horrible and am afraid of tetnus even though when I called the dr he said dont worry about it. Has anyone else done this, not just knick it I know that does happen but really pinch her precious little finger?
