Baby Shower Vent

Thanks in advance for "listening"...

 One of my work friends, who in a way, was a good friend, before I got pregnant, decided that she wanted to throw me a shower. She decided this back in Sept and I have been telling her non stop ever since, that I really do NOT want one. I am not that type of person. I don't like parties, I don't like that kind of attention on me. (My husband and I didn't have a wedding cause I don't like this kind of stuff.) I also know the people invited and they make crap for $. They don't have money to buy things or take time off work etc. I'd much rather people save their money and their time.

  I kept making my case to her and she ignored it. I find out through the grape vine that she planned one and actually went and invited people I am not friends with and actually don't care for very much. I have spent more time being stressed out about this than I have anything else this pregnancy. I honestly feel like, if she was such a good friend, she'd respect my wishes. 

 Anyone else have to deal with a friend like this? What did you do?
