3rd Trimester

2nd tri question-- Did you amnio?

Hope you ladies don't mind me popping over for some advice ( hopefully)

I won't bore you with the long details, but my genetic testing came back making me a carrier for pompe disease ( causing fatal heart failure in infants)-- My husband had the genetic sequencing done which showed he does not have the typical carrier gene mutation, but he has 3 "blips" on the chromosome that "cannot be identified"-- i.e., they cannot say whether or not they are benign or if he is definitely a carrier or not. For a definitive answer I need to have an amnio. We would not terminate no matter what the results are, but I am starting to think the peace of mind for the next 6 months would be nice. The genetics issues have kept me from truly getting excited about the pregnancy. The risk of amnio is that it's a 1 in 300 chance of miscarriage. I'm having a hard time deciding what to do. Has anyone been in a similar situation?

Thanks in advance :)
