she's eating too much

DD is eating every 3 hours mostly, but throughout the day, she will eat every 2.5 hours every now and again. I know there are moms wishing they could get thier LO to go 3 hours, but she is eating 5oz at a time. Even the doctor said she should be going longer than that  (at least 3 hours between every feeding, more for some). She will go 3-5 hours at night, but it still seems she is eating too much. The doc recommended that I give her more (I have tried but she usually won't go too much past 4.5 - 5 oz) and he also suggested putting a tablespoon of rice cereal in her 1 bottle per day just to see if it helps. Right now she is eating about 40 oz per day at 10 lbs 7 oz, that is too much!!!!
