Strange pain..is it normal?

I am 24 weeks and I am having this burning sensation right around my right side around my rib cage.  It feels like a brush burn on the outside when I touch it but there is no marks on my skin.  When I stand up like from getting out of bed or laying on the couch, I get a sharp pain.

 Is this normal?  I talked to my doctor about it when I was in this week and she said it was just just my skin stretching?
