Small?

I went to the doctors today and my little guy weighs just under 4.5 pounds and is about 17.5 inches long. I am just over 34 weeks and with reading the weekly updates, is my little guy measuring small? They have the averages a little more in each category. Am I not eating enough? Should I worry? Please share your feedback. My doctor doesn't seem to worry, but then said he may come early. Not sure why he mentioned that, but his head measured a week and a half ahead of time. I know you he will come when he wants to, but I am a FTM here and have no idea what to expect. I am gained about 22.5 pounds so far and my doctor wants me to stay under 25. This will get interesting because I will not starve myself to hit the goal if I need to gain more.
