misbehaved cats and newborns??

i have two cats under a year old, one male and one female.  The male is a bad cat, he bites and scratches sometimes and im nervous about his reaction to our baby when we bring him home in april.  our girl cat is pretty docile but the boy gets her riled up.  any advice on what i can do to keep them away from the baby or biting or scratching him.  we really dont want to worry about having to get rid of either cat because we love them.
