No baby shower - friends can't afford it

Hey all,

I live far away from family and it unfortunately looks like my close friends aren't going to have enough money to throw me a baby shower.  I am feeling really terrible about it since I always thought I would get a shower.  Am I just being selfish and unreasonable?  Or perhaps just crazy pregnant hormones are getting the best of me? I completely understand it logically - we don't have a ton of money either so I can't begrudge anyone feeling like they don't have time/support/money to throw us a shower but it still sucks.  Has this happened to anyone else?
