DS sleeping on his side

Is that ok? I've been having a hard time getting him to sleep in his crib, as many if you may already know and after him waking up while in his RnP for a bottle I thought I'd just try laying him in his crib. Well when I put him down his face was turnedi toward me, he likes to sleep w/ his face to the side, he landed in crib on his side. I waited a minute as he adjusted himself & he fell asleep. I know they're supposed to sleep in their backs but is this ok or should I go in and move him onto his back (he'll prob cry and wake up if I do)? This wil be a first if he stays asleep!
