bathing position

i was wondering how u all do it? i place the little bath into my bathtub and i kneel next to the bath. i feel that this is pretty uncomfortable, because i lean over (which hurts my back) and i have to make sure the baby is stable (because i want his to be covered enough with water and not be cold), and its hard since he is growing and is getting heavy and i have to use one hand to keep his head nice and stable above water and the other hand to wash him. 

i know there are kneeling pads u can purchase on amazon... what do u do?

i just want to make the whole bathing experience more comfortable and safe for both baby and i. any recommendations?  thanks
