How soon after birth does baby go to Ped?

Hi ladies,

I'm a March mom, but I'm trying to get things squared away. Just curious, after you bring the baby home, typically when is a pediatrician appointment set up? It seems some of my friends have taken their baby a day or two after getting home, whereas I just talked to a pediatrician's office and she said something about a couple weeks?! Thanks in advance!
