Nipples look weird

Hello Ladies!

So I was taking a shower this morning and I noticed that my nipples were really dark, almost purple. I also noticed that it looked like they were really chaffed (it looked like the skin was peeling). I'm not sure if this is normal or not. Did anyone experience this?
