Mylicon?

LO's pediatrician suggested that we try Mylicon in order to relieve some of his gas. Has anyone else tried this? Does it work? I am also going to start cutting dairy out of my diet to see if that brings us any relief. He was up all night last night fussing and crying with the gas. I feel so bad that he is uncomfortable, but I am also desperate to get some sleep.

For anyone else who had babies with gas early on, how long until it seemed to subside?
