Sex After Birth...

Does anyone know the specific reasons you're supposed to wait until your 6 weeks postpartum check up to have sex?  And how many people followed that?  I don't want to be scolded, because I know you're supposed to wait...I'm just getting kind of uhhh...frustrated lol.  My bleeding has stopped; my stitches are healed; I'm feeling good.  I know a lot of it is just making sure everything is ok in there, but I really want to hear if people went ahead and had sex before their 6 week check up and if anyone had anything bad happen because of it
