Baby with Gas?

LO seems to have problems with gas especially at night. About 2 hours after his night feedings he will start to get fussy and makes sounds as if he is trying to get out gas. Then, usually after he lets the gas out or poops he will settle down and go back into a good sleep. Today about 2 hours after feeding him this morning he started crying and the only thing that would calm him was me holding him and rocking him until he finally pooped and then he fell asleep.

I pump LO's milk and I feed it to him in a Dr. Browns bottle. I don't drink much dairy, no milk, and only about a yogurt every other day and the occassional cheese. I don't know if it could be the dairy. I also have about one can of Coke a day (35 mg caffeine). Do you think it could be diet that is causing the gas or is this normal?

I just hate hearing him cry and fuss like he is in pain. Help is appreciated!
