Painting/shoveling while pregnant

Im 20 weeks with twins and told that I shouldnt help paint the nursery, even with a face mask on, or not to shovel snow. I think the shoveling thing is silly since its great exercise, but what do you guys think about painting. it would with a window open, face mask on, and ceiling fan on?
