baby shower question- in good taste? (posted on preg after 35)

I have several friends that I work with that I believe assume they will be invited to my baby shower.  However, I am afraid that if I invite some of my co-workers it may cause others to be offended they weren't invited.  I also feel its might be in poor taste to invite ALL of my coworkers and if they don't come they might feel obligated to give a gift.  To top it all my office has thrown baby showers for some employees in the past, but not for all.  What the heck do i do? any one have advice on if its poor taste to invite all, or some or just forget the whole thing and invite none of them?
