Ways to ease severe round ligament pain?

Does anyone have any remedies for how to make severe round ligament pain feel better? I am 23 weeks and feeling horrible stretching pains from my hip up the side of my belly to my rib when I have been sitting for a while and then stand up too quickly. It does not bother me when I am sitting down, only when I am up moving about. The first bad episode was 2 days ago, then it was gone, and now I am struggling with it today again. I am concerned that it is only on my left side; most of what I have read says it is usually worse on the right. There is a lot of info describing the pain and what causes it, but not necessarily how to treat it. Don't really want to put a heating pad on my belly....
