How young is too young??

My wonderful hubby (not sarcasm, he really is amazing) told my MIL that she could have our baby every once in a while for an over night stay (she lives three hours away). The only problem is he didn't specify when these adventures were going to start. Our lovely newborn is only 6 weeks old. I'm barely getting used to going to the store without him, I don't think I could handle spending two nights away from him. Neither my husband or my MIL understands this and its been an on going discussion for a week now. Thank goodness my husband stands up for me and tells her I'm not ready but you can hear the disdain in her voice. 

Am I wrong for telling her no? I feel that its too young for him to go so far. =/ He has his whole life to spend weeks at their house. He said they feel like the "other grandparents" because my parents live so close, but he's six weeks old! I barely know him.
