Breast Shells?

Ok, so over the past two weeks I have learned that I have a flat nipple on one of my breasts. It isn't inverted but doesn't protrude like the others. I read that as the skin becomes more elastic in 3rd Tri that it will remedy itself and I can use breast shells . I'm nearing that threshold so I want to be prepared....

Breast-feeding concerns aside...it hurts...for whatever reason the skin  won't release itself to allow the nipple to protrude is tender and pinker than it should be.

 Anyone have experience with rectifying this problem?
