17 weeks, cramping

I am 17 weeks with my second pregnancy.  I have had this menstral-like cramping on and off for a few weeks.  My dr. says it's normal, and can be more intense with subsequent pregnancies.  We heard the HB at 15 weeks and she said that unless there is bleeding there is no cause for concern.

Well, last night I woke up with really bad cramps, and they've continued to this morning.  no bledding or any other symptoms.  Would you call the on-call Dr? Mine doesn't have office hours on weekends.  I don't want to be overreacting, but this is so unlike my first pregnancy.  Any mom's of 2+ experience this?
