College funds?

January 2012 in 2nd Trimester

So my parents are telling me I need to start a college fund now for my first baby, which is due in April. I have no idea how much to put in weekly, if I should start a separate account, ect? Has anyone started a fund yet? I feel like its early, but they kept saying, how it was done for me and I should do the same and start it by the time she is born.
