Finding Out the Sex

My husband and I are expecting our first child and though we want both a boy and a girl he wants to wait until birth to find out the sex. I was originally thinking I would be okay with it, but now that I have actually conceived, part of me wants to know for planning reasons and etc. He wants me to wait with him so going to my own appointment would be unfair. Has anyone waited until birth and what do you think?
