was anyone else told not to take a bath for two weeks after delivery?

and if so did you listen? I'm wondering what taking a bath could hurt, stitches-wise. Is there like a risk of infection or something? I'm DYING to take a bath and I still have a week left until they told me I can, I'm seriously considering cheating though.
